Mabuk
Aku dimabuk rasa penasaran
Maka aku mengecupmu

Checkpoints in Life
I wish peace to you all. Assalamu'alaikum.
...takes a bit of courage to write that.
Right. So.
I originally wanted to write this exactly last week, when I had just graduated, as some kind of graduation celebratory post. I'm losing my writing skills in both languages, really. Ugh.
So, on May 30th 2013 we are now pronounced as graduates of 28 High. Phew. That can sound really big to people who often hear of our school, but to us, it's just... a part of growing up. Before I start to get feely all over again, should I just make this as a diary post like I originally intended to?
Right.
So the fuss started at 5.00 when we arrived at a salon nearby for makeup. I can't do makeups, like really. The person taking care of me is a T/Q, but she was really kind. I went to the building located at Tebet with my mom from there at 5.50 AM. I learned the previous day on the rehearsal that the graduates were going to have some kind of grand entrance parade. Apparently, our entrance parade leader was the top-notch local heartthrob of the era. Girls started whispering around and combusting frantically. Some really chronic stirring and spewing happened among some really chronic fangirls, but then, nothing else happened.
The entrance parade, especially the standing order, was really complicated but then I realized that it was for the sake of entering the hall and taking seats neatly. (we were given seat orders and standing orders according to that). It all went well, with graceful walks on the red carpet and whatnot.
My class entered the last (thanks to the major-based listing). We wore purple dresses and ties.
We sang the national anthem, and the school anthem, and stuff. There were dancing performances by the sophomores, and then, the graduation ceremony. People walked up the stage to get their graduation medals and a picture, called up by alphabetical order and being applauded for the schools they've managed to get into through the Progress Card Process. Only a 'meager' 1/3 passed the selection and I really wonder why people are still thickfaced enough to take the selection even though they don't rank well in class. Don't get offended though I'm just saying, I'm a lazy moron too you know.
This lazy moron was one of the last--the ninth number in class--to come up the stage. They called my name and mentioned the school where I'm admitted. People were already tired of applauding for 200 students, but then, they applauded for me. It's not that I was being applauded, it's that I have a lot of responsibilities for that big name. My faith, my mother, my mother's money, my people, my pride. My dreams that I highly fear.
The booming sophomore idol, our Vice Principal's tabby daughter, came popping out of nowhere like a mutated daisy. I've always been a fan of her, although I do admit that her voice is an 'acquired taste'--not your ordinary vocal-school-favored voice.
The other surprise was my long-time idol, Tompi and The Doctor (I am sorry I always forgot your name, Maam, but I just love you sfm, really.). They scat and I scatter, okay. They're gorgeous.
Show over. I walked around to get as many pictures with my friends as possible. It's weird how people you always think were bitter to you, actually like you. Or maybe just for the day, or maybe just for the name, we will never know.
To C if you happen to read this post, I'm sorry I can't hold it down when I know I'm supposed to.
Over and out. MGBU.

Father
A few nights before, I had a small conversation with father that I passed math and economics, the subjects people fear. And also that I flunked geography. And then father was 'mad' and he said something like "how can you even flunk geography, the thing that makes sense to not pass is chemistry or something."
Then it was silent. Father had forgotten all this time that I was taking social studies.
The reality he never wanted.
When I had to bring it up back then when I was about to enter my sophomore year, he was silent and said things like "Okay, you can be rich and go to economics like mommy" and things like that. He did--or actually, does--not believe that future exists outside numbers. From what I see daily, the world is upside down in my home. Mother is the only person the sons look up to, I refrained from being rude but father generally cannot understand anything spoken without yelling, my brother learned the same belief from me and ended up vocally hating father, and father is just there being an outcast in his own home.
No, I don't hate father at all. He is fucking despicable, yes, but I do not have any right to hate him and from what I see, the despicability is just due to the fact that he does not interact well with anything outside silicon boards and his high school gang. Father loves me although I swear it's so obvious that we try to hide and/or deny that we totally hate each other. It's just that maybe loving the sons is a cute thing and his stomach churns at cutesy. But even mother yells at him sometimes or point out his stupidity before me so that I could support or exaggerate her point.
So one thing I really want to tell you is just this sadness welling inside me. I've told you that father had lived the past year and a half to forget that I took and am taking social studies, and now that I brought it up, being in the disadvantaged position of being despised by half the household, he seemed super sad because he couldn't be mad about it. Like, you know, sometimes I wondered if father disliked anything I do just for the sake of it and that he enjoyed the victory of yelling at people's faces. But mother had shaped the house into a no-yell place and yelling doesn't work on anyone and now, due to that, he lost his power.
Sometimes on dinner father asked me about my friends who are in college now, where they were doing and going for college. I told about a friend of mine, Dariel (who called me useless on one occasion but yeah I can live another decade to baffle him and father) and told that he went to FTI ITB. He said, "Woaah, awesome" with the most twinkliest eyes I had ever seen for all the 16 years living with him. After the gloom in me failing in a subject as 'stupid' as geography, and now, this, you know what, although he didn't say it, I bet he's totally disappointed at me for not being the first daughter he wanted. I could go to science and still master biology like I had all my entire life and study medicine and make father retire happily.
You heard that? Study medicine! Study medicine!!! :)) Dammit man, 'study medicine' is the most ridiculous thing I have ever mentioned in my whole entire blogging life or maybe my existence in high school and right now I'm mentioning 'study medicine' for you, dad! Sorry for real med students or people wanting to be one, I don't mean any insult and studying medicine was in my list when I was a kid. I am thoroughly sorry if it sounded like an offense to you guys.
But hey dad, I still practice and understand the daily principles of medicine a bajillion times better than you!
Okay now that I am done discussing my unwanted future in father's life, I also feel sad that now mother often had to mention the good sides of father so much and almost desperately so that her children can regain trust.
Which sadly to say is unlikely to happen, especially for my brother. Like, see, all my comments here are my most honest and neutral feelings and I don't hate father, okay. But I see our mutual hatred as something very cute and should be caught on tape.
Okay father, let's puke our bile and guts all out and say that we love each other. Okay?
With love, your daughter that seemingly has no light in her future.

Fangirl pun bicara: Memasuki Benua Utama
Lucu bener pertama denger. Sebelum dia kasitau pun saya sering ngeliat betapa alaiumgambrengnya boiben Jepang. Duet sih, group TegoMasu pecahan NEWS.
Dia kasih link.
Padahal dulu kelas 1-2 SD saya sering nyanyi-nyanyi lagu-lagu Westlife seperti "My Love," "Seasons," dan "I Have A Dream" yang featuring Sherina.
Namun, ketika saya telponan sama besfren saya dari SD, dia bercerita soal beberapa boiben Korea. Saya ho-oh-ho-oh sambil su'udzon dalem ati, karena saya sudah meng-generalize segala rupa boiben. Bahkan Westlife, gatau kenapa.
Oke, back to boiben. Sohib saya yang tadi ngereccomend pun memberi saya link-link. Nonton ajalah, soalnya orangnya rada setipe dan saya sering sehati sama dia soal musik, jadi su'udzon saya agak berkurang ketika ngeklik dan buffer.
Ketika nonton vid pertama, saya belum tersentuh, meskipun itu sudah cukup melunturkan generalisasi negatif saya. Iseng melirik list 'Related Videos' di kanan, saya klik aja meski buffer masih di tengah jalan.
I turned out to like Dong Bang Shin Ki. They introduced me to their fellow adek kelas boibens and I turned out liking them as well.
Makin lama, sedikit banyak saya makin tau tentang boiben-boiben Korea.
No offense.
Tapi saya tetep suka sekali musik jepang. Apapun yang non-boiben.
Dan saya juga suka Andrea Bocelli.
Nyambung gak sih?
Oke maaf. Just some stupid blurbs down here. I need to post something before I die nuts. Yonde kureta arigatou gozaimashita. Dadaah.

The Land With No Love
That's what one of my friend said. "Yes, that's why Japan's called 'The Land Without Love'," katanya.
Tapi aku gak ngerti sama sekali apa yang dia omongin. Lagipula, Jepang lagi gak dijerat perang. Kebudayaan tradisional maupun kontemporer jepang begitu diminati banyak orang. Kenapa disebut Land Without Love?
NVM about what he said. But...
Gue rasa, sejak gue jadi JFreak, freaky things happen to me. Aneh aja.
Mungkin cinta gue bakalan gue swift perlahan ke Italy hha... Tapi I think I am determined to love the rising sun...

Vektor dan Skalar
Besaran? Bukti-bukti sederhana:
Bahasa Indonesia: Tulis!
Bahasa Inggris: Write DOWN!
Bahasa Indonesia: Duduk
Bahasa Inggris: Sit DOWN
Bahasa Indonesia: Berdiri
Bahasa Inggris: Stand UP
Bahasa Indonesia: Warnai!
Bahasa Inggris: Color IN!
Bahasa Indonesia: Berjalan menyusuri
Bahasa Inggris: Walk DOWN
Bahasa Indonesia: Mencampur
Bahasa Inggris: Mix-UP

Trans TV & JPop
Bagi para pecinta jejepangan, sadar gak kalo Trans TV sering pake lagu Depapepe? Kalo lagu band sih, pernah denger mereka pake intro dari “Korogaru Iwa Kimi ni Asa ga Furu” milik Asian Kungfu Generation.
Makanya aku heran, kok database Background Music Trans TV mirip kaya koleksi lagu salah satu pemirsanya ya? (baca: Donna Nadira binti bapaknya) :D
Yaa, gapapa sih, gak masalah. Toh aku bukan pemilik Sony Music kok. Tapiiii…

lirik "Soulmate" (Natasha Bedingfield)
incomparable, it don't matter though
coz someone's bound to hear my cry
speak out if you do, you're not easy to find
is it possible, mr lovable
is already in my life?
right in front of me
or maybe you're in disguise?
who doesn't long for someone to hold?
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why i'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
here we are again, circles never end
how do i find the perfect fit?
there's enough for everyone, but i'm still waiting in line
who doesn't long for someone to hold?
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why i'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
if there's a soulmate for everyone...
most relationships seem so transitory
they're all good, but not the permanent one
who doesn't long for someone to hold?
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why i'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
who doesn't long for someone to hold?
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why i'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
